Marteen Taylor is office administrator at BSJ. A native Montanan, she was born and raised on a ranch in Eastern Montana. She came to Bozeman with her husband and 5 children in 2016 and has never looked back. Together, they love the outdoors and the adventure living in Western Montana brings.
Corinne Gaffner Garcia
Corinne Gaffner Garcia is the managing editor of Western Art & Architecture and Big Sky Journal and a freelance writer for a number of regional and national outlets. She has traveled the state of Montana extensively as a field editor for a travel book and loves to report on life in the West, with a focus on art, homes, food, people and culture. She lives in Bozeman, Montana with her husband and two young boys.
Josh Warren and his family love living in Montana for the wonderful scenery, outdoor adventure and wonderful people. As Big Sky Journal's advertising director and the representative for advertising in Utah for Western Art & Architecture, he enjoys all aspects of the business, but is especially inspired by the entrepreneurs and business owners he meets on the job.
Dominique Fultz is originally from Boise, Idaho, and has been exploring the Rocky Mountains and Northwest ever since. She earned a bachelor's of fine arts in graphic design from Montana State University, where she studied a variety of art, from illustration and publication design, to letterpress and screenprinting. J.D. Publishing allows her to work with creative and inspiring people, as well as keeping her connected with the regional land, art and the way of life that she loves. Skiing, biking, fishing, letterpress and family are a smattering of her favorite things.
Innately connected to the soul of the region, graphic designer Karen Schmidt has worked in the Bozeman, Montana, area for 28 years. With a bachelor's degree from Montana State University, her client base has ranged from The National Endowment for the Arts, Western Folklife Center, H.S. Trask & Co., Museum of the Rockies, Greater Yellowstone Coalition to Big Sky Resort and Bridger Bowl ski areas.
She has been designing for JD Publishing since 2003. The first five years as Big Sky Journal's art director and the past seven years as the art director for Western Art & Architecture. She was responsible for WA&A's initial design concept from the masthead to the overall layout. WA&A has been nominated for three awards with the Western Publishing Association — Best New Publication, Best Quarterly-Consumer and Best Overall Design, Consumer.
Her passions are color, hiking, skiing, boating, her husband Rich and their 110 pound German Shepard Maneau.
Editor in Chief
Christine Rogel is a multimedia journalist and the editor in chief for Western Art & Architecture. Prior to moving to Montana, she worked as a newspaper editor at the Las Cruces Sun-News and earned a master's degree in digital media from the Walter Cronkite School at Arizona State University.
As founding publisher of Western Art & Architecture, Jared Swanson is also the publisher of Big Sky Journal, Tahoe Quarterly and oversees the operations of his most recent acquisition, Cascade Journal. Dedicated to his staff, clients and readership, Jared is committed to producing top-quality publications that highlight art, architecture, regional lifestyle and outdoor adventures throughout the western United States.
