Martin OOL Fly Fishing Guitar featuring William Matthews

For the angler who loves to play guitar, or the musician who loves to fly fish, we’ve found you quite a gem! Painted by the artiste extraordinaire William Matthews (who loves to fly fish and play guitar himself, and who recently created the cover art for Vince Gill’s new release), this guitar is one musical pièce de résistance. Its back and sides are crafted from the hardwood Gonçalo Alves, and its glossy front is made of Sitka spruce. The fly-fishing artwork is by Matthews, and we love the additional details of the pearl inlay trout on the fingerboard and headstock. Produced in cooperation with Martin Guitar Company, this artful instrument is part of a limited edition of 100.

Turquoise and Gold Jewelry by GURHAN

Sleeping Beauty turquoise is highly sought after for its flawless appearance. This pure sky blue stone is set in 24-carat gold to make for a stunning necklace and earring set. Contemporary Ceramics by Everett Studios

As a dynamic mother and son duo, Colleen and Nick Everett create vibrant ceramics in a variety of styles and colors. Colleen’s work resides in a collection at The White House and has been exhibited at the Smithsonian, among other museums and galleries. She’s also an avid supporter of the arts in her community of Vail, Colorado, where she founded the Vail Valley Arts League and the festival, Art on the Rockies. Her son Nick, a traveler and musician, joined Colleen in the studio because he was inspired by her influence as a teacher and her engagement with the creative process. Today, they take their ceramic creations to welcoming audiences across the U.S. Even though many of their works appear in a brightly hued palette, we love these black and white pieces from their Atomic Pinto series.

Handcrafted Belt by Scott Hardy and John Willemsma

Two members of the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association (TCAA), Scott Hardy and John Willemsma, teamed up to create this carved leather belt with an engraved silver buckle. Each employing their skill sets, Hardy created a cornucopia of flowers in silver while Willemsma hand-carved floral patterns into the leather. The buckle is sterling silver with 14-carat gold overlays, and the centers of the flowers are delicately colored in 14-carat green gold. Hardy, a founding member of the TCAA, included the organization’s logo on the back of the buckle. Willemsma’s reputation as a saddle-maker has spread across the U.S., Canada, and into Europe, and his exceptional talents are demonstrated in the belt’s etched leather. This accessory will offset any cowgirl’s outfit with Western elegance and handcrafted artistry.

Conoid Bench by George Nakashima Woodworkers

George Nakashima [1905–1990] said that his happiness came from working with trees, for he believed, like the Druids, that a tree has a spirit. As an artist, he felt he could give that spirit a second life, one that could last forever if cared for properly.

Nakashima’s approach to furniture was to let the wood speak, working with its imperfections as well as its beauty. We love this American black walnut Conoid Bench, with a spindled backrest constructed of hand-shaved hickory. Nakashima’s original design is re-created in a New Hope, Pennsylvania, workshop, and the bench is available in several sizes and wood types, including maple, Scottish elm, or East Indian rosewood. Well worth the year-plus wait, each bench is made to order. And while many of the famed woodworker’s pieces reside in museums, his daughter Mira explains that “Nakashima furniture is meant to be lived with as a member of the family.”
