Artists of both decorative and functional art sell their work on the south lawn of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. This year, featured functional art includes works of wood, glass, metal, leather, antler, and more. The three-day event is free and open to the public.
Founded as a nonprofit in 2015, By Western Hands promotes artisans through events and related activities that help sustain the creation of decorative and functional art using designs and techniques influenced by the American West. A dozen of this year’s featured artists currently live and work in Cody, contributing to the area’s economy, culture, and body of local art. Asa Christiana, author and former editor in chief of Fine Woodworking magazine, will speak on September 21 at 3 p.m. in the Coe Auditorium.
